Manchester United unsurprisingly fell to a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side threatened to come back into the game, but ultimately the Reds merited their victory.

Many have called for Solskjaer, 46, to be given the boot at Old Trafford.

But with the Norwegian continuing to be backed at board level, here's how the United team could look under his tutelage in two season's time.

Man Utd have been told to cough up £25m to sign PSG striker Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan is expected to leave the French capital this month, after falling down the pecking order.

A number of clubs have been interested in the 32-year-old including Atletico Madrid in Spain and Chelsea in the Premier League.

Yet, Manchester Evening News report that he will be available for £25m with a loan move not an option as he will be a free agent in the summer.

The Red Devils are suffering from a lack of frontline options, with Marcus Rashford expected to be sidelined for some time.

Manchester United will have to wait if they are to sign Jack Grealish, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is known to be a big fan of the Aston Villa captain.

The 46-year-old praised him after his stunning goal for the Villans at Old Trafford last month.

But according to the Daily Mirror, Grealish has not had his head turned and will definitely remain at Villa Park until at least the end of the season.

The 24-year-old signed a new five-year contract at his boyhood club back in 2018 and is determined to keep them in the Premier League.

Victor Lindelof has been sent home from Manchester United training this morning.

The 25-year-old reported for training at Carrington as normal.

But the Swede is unwell, and has been sent home as a precaution.

The extent of the illness is unknown, but could potentially rule Lindelof out of tomorrow's clash with Burnley at Old Trafford.

This could open the door for fit-again Eric Bailly.

The Ivorian has been out of action since injuring his knee in pre-season, but returned to the bench for the Red Devils' 2-0 loss at Anfield on Sunday.
