Spurs boss Jose Mourinho interrupted an interview with match winner Son Heung-min after Tottenham's last gasp win away at Aston Villa.

The South Korean star bagged a brace at Villa Park but squandered multiple chances to the displeasure of his Portuguese manager.

Mourinho was decidedly more relaxed than he would have been if Spurs had failed to take all three points.

He interrupted Son's interview and – with a smile on his face – said: “Are you speaking about the goals he scored or the goals he missed?”

Son's first goal came from the rebound of his missed penalty after a terrific save from former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

His second came right on the stroke of full-time to break Villa hearts and spare Mourinho's blushes.

Spurs star Son Heung-min has become the first Asian player to score 50 Premier League goals.

It has taken the South Korean ace 151 games to reach the impressive landmark – averaging a goal every three matches.

The 27-year-old is the biggest Asian football star in the Premier League and is a hero back home.

He has eclipsed Manchester United's former star Park Ji-sung who scored 19 goals and notched 21 assists during his 154 Premier League appearances.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho again hinted that his side were struggling without talisman and England captain Harry Kane.

Speaking after his side scored a last-minute winner to beat Aston Villa, Mourinho said: “The problem with Son and Lucas, the problem with especially these two guys is they have to play 90 minutes every game.

“That's the problem and if they run out of fuel then we are in trouble but their quality as players is fantastic, their attitude towards the team is absolutely incredible and I am so, so pleased for them.

“A team without Harry [Kane] is finding obviously difficulties, the difficulties are the nature of the Premier League, but in the middle of the difficulties we are finding a different way to play football.

“We are finding a different way to create opportunities and to score enough goals to put ourselves in a position to fight for a good position in the table.”

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho did not spend much time worrying about Uefa's decision to ban Manchester City from the Champions League for two seasons after breaking Financial Fair Play rules.

Speaking at his press conference after his side beat Aston Villa 3-2, Mourinho said: “My view is that I didn't lose one single minute analysing what UEFA and FIFA [did], they have to analyse.

“If I go into that, I have to ask if the team that finished second in 2018 is going to be champions, yes or no?

“That would be interesting but joking apart, I just wait calmly. Fourth or fifth, I just think about doing the best we can.

“The more points we can get the better position we can get. At the end of the season we'll see where we are. If we are sixth or seventh then it doesn't matter if the fifth goes to Champions League.

“There is a big fight. You could see yesterday Liverpool, first against the last, you could see today Villa fighting to stay in the division and us fighting for top position, how difficult it is. This is the Premier League.

“So when we speak about the fifth spot, I think for sure Wolves, Sheffield United, Man United, Arsenal, Everton, everyone looks to the table and week after week they say we can do it and they can. It's going to be very hard.”
