A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of Greengairs resident Daniel Greer.

Mr Greer, 33, was discovered in his Rankin Crescent home around 12.55pm last Monday, October 19 – three days after he had last been seen.

A murder probe was launched after it was found that Daniel, who was also known as Shed, had allegedly suffered a “violent assault” in the lead up to his death.

Investigators have been trying to establish Daniel’s movements after he was last seen on Friday, October 16.

Officers arrested Airdrie man Nicholas Alexander Henry, 43, in relation to Mr Greer’s death and he appeared in the dock at Airdrie Sheriff Court earlier today.

Henry was charged with murder and made no plea; he was committed for further examination and remanded in custody ahead of his return to court at a later date.
