British actor Andrew Garfield is bringing his latest film home.
Under the Silver Lake, the much-anticipated follow-up to David Robert Mitchell's acclaimed horror It Follows, has finally received a release date in the UK.
Described as a delirious neo-noir fever dream, the film follows the unhappy Sam (Garfield) who discovers the enigmatic Sarah (Hold the Dark star Riley Keough) swimming in his apartment building's swimming pool.
Sarah then goes missing, leading Sam on an utterly bizarre and surreal quest through the city of Los Angeles, where murder and conspiracy lie beneath the sunny surface.
The film garnered divisive reviews when it competed for the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2018, and has continued to receive polarised opinions since its US release.
Now Under the Silver Lake will be released in the UK on March 15 , coming to theatres and streaming simultaneously thanks to MUBI, a hand-curated cinema streaming and download service.
MUBI previously distributed horror film Suspiria in UK cinemas.
The film's soundtrack was worked on by Mithcell's It Follows collaborator Disasterpiece.
The neo-noir tale also stars BlacKkKlansman star Topher Grace, The Client List's Laura-Leigh, Girls actress Zosia Mamet, Black Mirror: USS Callister star Jimmi Simpson, and Mulholland Drive actor Patrick Fischler.
Will Sam find Sarah, or will he discover something even darker behind her story?
Under the Silver Lake is released in UK cinemas and available to stream on MUBI on March 15.
