Former Kilmarnock defender Kristoffer Ajer helped inspire his Celtic side to a Betfred Cup final after this afternoon.

The centre-back, who was on loan to the Rugby Park side in 2017, kept a clean sheet alongside defensive partner Christopher Jullien - who scored the winning goal.

The Hoops ran out 1-0 winners despite a dominant performance from Rangers.

Celtic registered just one shot on target in the game, but it proved to be decisive as Jullien's strike at the back post flew in the bottom corner in the second-half.

Rangers could have quickly equalised as they were awarded a penalty and Celtic were reduced to 10 men.

But Alfredo Morelos missed the penalty as it was well saved by an inspired Fraser Forster.
