A BRIT beautician wept in a US court as she was jailed for a year over a botched butt life which killed a TV producer.
Donna Francis, 39, cried "I'm sorry - I'm just sorry" as she was caged at Queens Supreme Court in New York.
She pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide in the death of Kelly Mayhew, 34, in 2015.
Francis injected Ms Mayhew with silicone bought on eBay and almost immediately went into shock.
She later died from 'systemic silicone emboli' in which silicone entered her bloodstream.
Francis, from Loughton, Essex, boarded a flight back to the UK in a bid to escape justice.
After fighting a losing legal battle in the UK, Francis was extradited back to US in August.
Francis injected Ms Mayhew an illegal plastic surgery clinic in the basement of a house in New York.
The patient had travelled with her mother from Suitland, Maryland, and paid Francis $1,600 for a buttocks augmentation op, prosecutors said.
Sentencing, Judge Holder told Francis he had wanted to give her a stronger sentence but her charge wouldn't allow it.
He said: "I have to say that the phrase 'getting away with murder' certainly applies to you.
"What [the family] is not getting, in my opinion, is justice.
"If you have a conscience, this is going to haunt you much longer than the one-year sentence you’re going to serve."
Mayhew's mother, Latrice, said after the hearing: "If you can sleep on the fact that you just killed someone then you don’t care. She got away with murder."
