Celebs Go Dating star Sam Thompson uses ‘gay’ slur in old tweets to former Made In Chelsea castmates

CELEBS Go Dating star Sam Thompson has issued a grovelling apology for using homophobic slurs on Twitter.

The reality star, 26, wrote the tweets when he first joined Made In Chelsea in 2013 and typed in one message: "Top off, nothing gay."

In another, he wrote to his then Made In Chelsea co-star Stevie J: "Even by your standards that's pretty gay dude..... X"

While in separate conversations on Twitter from six years ago, Sam repeatedly branded other people "gay".

When contacted by The Sun Online, Sam apologised and said: “I was wrong to use language like that.

"I’ve grown-up a lot since 2013 and would now never be so careless with my choice of words.

"As a society, we’ve also come a long way, and I think we’re now more aware of the power of the words we use.”

Sam's not the first reality star to come under fire after old tweets were dug up.

Love Island's Maura was warned by show bosses earlier this month after an old video of her shouting a homophobic slur emerged online.

And Maya Jama was forced to apologise last year after 'disrespectful' old tweets were unearthed by fans.

Sam Thompson branded a 'c***' by furious club owner after pulling out of appearance to go to the polo instead

She said sorry to her fans for posting an 'insensitive joke' by a comedian back in 2012.

Sam found himself in an unfortunate Twitter row earlier this month after he pulled a sickie off work and took new girlfriend Zara McDermott to the polo instead.

Photos emerged of Sam and his posh pals at the exclusive event but the pics were soon spotted by the owners of Voodoo nightclub in Newcastle, where Sam had a booked public appearance.

Sam was soon branded "a little w****r" as well as a "Chelsea t**t" by furious Voodoo events rep Chris Williamson in a video on Twitter.

In his expletive filled rant, angry Chris labelled polo the most "toffy w***y sport on the planet" and called Sam a "c**t".

He says in the clip: "Sam was booked for a PA at Voodoo tonight. He sent us a message a bit earlier saying he was ill, with Strep throat in bed, was unable to make it, 'I'm very very sorry'.

"It looks a bit like this..." The camera flips to a video of Sam topless and lying on a white cushion with a scruffy beard and hair.

Sam tells Chris: "Hey guys, I'm so sorry, uhm, I'm not going to be there tonight.

Chris explained step-by-step why he was raging with Sam

I never ever, I think this is actually the first thing I've EVER pulled out of my whole time of being on TV."

He continues: "Uhm, I've got tonsilitis, I've got strep throat, which is kinda rank, but basically I can't speak or swallow or anything.

"Uhm, I'd be on s**t form. And I don't want to be in a nightclub on s**t form. With you guys, I wanna come and party..."

But Chris shot back: "I spent half my day trying to fix this problem, I need to find a replacement, are we going to rebook him?

"Then I put a story up that Sam's cancelled. One of my buddies linked me to this story of one of his mates."

Pictures then flash up on screen of Sam and new girlfriend Zara drinking with pals and Chris continues: "I'm like, 'hang on a second, who's that c**t there?'"

Another video Chris shared reveals Sam actually at the Chestertons Polo in the Park, posing in a blue shirt, white jeans and brown suede boots with a big grin on his face.
