Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver has shed an impressive three stone after overhauling her diet.

The actress, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, is thought to have dropped from a size 16 to a size 12-14 since cutting out gluten and following a low-sugar Mediterranean diet.

Diabetic, Sue, 54, reportedly opted to switch to a healthy lifestyle so she can enjoy a longer life with her partner and son Elliot.

“Sue was always a self-confessed foodie, who admitted that over-indulgence was her Achilles Heel. Now everything’s changed," a source previously told Woman magazine.

“Sue’s in her mid 50s so it was a no brainer that cutting down on certain things was what she had to do. She’s in this for the long game and wants to live a long, happy and healthy life.”

Sue collapsed on set in 2011 due to her diabetes, and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

"Sue was looking pretty off at around 9am just as we were getting things ready for filming. Then all of a sudden she just seemed to collapse and everyone was panicking," a source told The Sun at the time.

"The on-site medics were called and they were very quick to get to her. She informed them that she was having some kind of attack brought on by her diabetes and they agreed that that's what it looked like.

"An ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital just to be on the safe side."
