Dad builds amazing swim-up bar in his back garden with a flat screen TV for the football and cocktails on tap

A FAMILY has taken lockdown to the next level by creating a swim-up bar in their back garden with a flat screen TV and cocktails on tap.

Pete Simmons, 45, from Buckinghamshire, originally got a pool for his kids when lockdown began, but his daughters Leah 17, and Ella, 16, begged him to upgrade to a hot tub.

To take things to the next level, Pete decided to make an epic bar to perfect the garden set-up.

He extended a little bar he had put up outside in 2018 for the football World Cup, by adding a roof and integrating it with the hot tub.

The family also added stools, a parasol and panelling around the tub to hold their drinks during lockdown.

The swanky bar has a flat screen TV and spirit dispensers, with a “Welcome to the mad house” sign on the side.

Dad Pete is excited for football to return, but he may be lucky if he gets near the hot tub as the girls are such big fans.

And his wife Mel is also supportive of the swim-up bar, as it means she gets the indoor TV to herself.

Pete said: “I had an idea after the kids were hassling me for a hot tub and then I extended the bar with the hot tub enclosure.

“Most of the materials were ordered online and delivered but I had to make a couple trips to B&Q and join the queues.

“When the fixtures restart, me and my son Kai will be sat out there. Mel loves it, she’s not a football fan but she gets the tv to herself.”
