EastEnders ' Mick Carters' heartbreaking childhood sexual abuse has recently come back to the surface after he buried it for decades.

But Mick (Danny Dyer) has been forced to face his past after his daughter Frankie arrived in Albert Square to introduce herself.

Mick was abused while he was in care, leading to his care worker Katy Lewis getting pregnant with his baby when he was just 12 years old.

He has never told his mum Shirley about the abuse, because he resents her so much for leaving him in care as he blames her for the horror that followed.

Mick finally opens up about his troubled childhood of sexual abuse

But that is all set to change in upcoming scenes on the BBC soap next week as Mick finally opens up to Shirley about what really happened.

Max Branning offers Linda Carter another shift in the restaurant, and she agrees as Mick watches on, unimpressed, nut unaware the two shared a kiss just weeks ago.

Mick later sees that Frankie has returned to the square, but she has been ignoring his messages.

Shirley begs Mick to tell her the truth

Attempting some normality again, Mick interrupts Linda’s shift and tries to woo his wife, but back at home it soon becomes clear to Linda that something is clearly bothering Mick.

She secretly gets Mick an appointment for a medication review, and as Shirley overhears, Linda admits to her that she is at her wit's end, and Mick is really struggling.

Mick finds out about the appointment and is furious at Linda for going behind his back.

Linda knows something is affecting Mick after Frankie's appearance

Visiting Mick later, Shirley tells him that she knows Linda is worried and his anxiety is through the roof, and reassures him they all just want to help.

Shirley wants to know why Mick has been calling Frankie and demands he is honest about who Frankie is to him, refusing to let it go.

She tells Mick she is not leaving until he tells her the truth, and so Mick is forced to delve into his heartbreaking childhood to explain who Frankie really is.
