EastEnders star Tameka Empson announced she has given birth to a baby boy.

Tameka, who plays Kim Fox on the BBC soap, revealed on today’s Loose Women that she’d given birth while on a break from the show.

The 43-year-old said: “I’ve been contributing to the human race… I have a baby boy, a bouncing baby boy.”

Speaking about coping with two young children during lockdown, she said: “It’s a challenge... nothing prepares you for it. My daughter is six and we’re doing homeschooling, and then you’ve got a newborn and you’ve got to watch everything… he’s sleeping now, which helps. I’m made of the good stuff, I’ve come through it OK.”

Asked if it was a deliberate decision to keep the news secret, she said: “It wasn’t so much deliberate. I just wanted to enjoy it.

"A baby comes and you want to enjoy it before everyone says, ‘How’s he doing... etc.’”
