JAMES RODRIGUEZ sent social media into meltdown when he scored a stunner during Colombia’s win over USA.
The Bayern Munich star produced a moment of magic to break the deadlock during the international friendly.
Rodriguez opened the scoring at the Raymond James Stadium with a remarkable left-footed strike.
The 27-year-old picked up the ball on the edge of the box before he effortlessly shook off the defender and lined up his strike.
He somehow curled his shot into the far corner of the net as USA goalkeeper Zack Steffen watched helplessly.
Fans on Twitter claimed that it will be a contender for goal of the year after the video done the rounds on social media.
One fan said: “This right here should be in contention for goal of the year. The left foot made the goal more beautiful.”
Another added: “If Salah’s goal won the Puskas Award. This deserves it too.”
One other Twitter user concluded: “This goal should have been counted as 2 goals. Out of this world @jamesrodriguez.”
But Colombia found themselves 2-1 down in the early stages of the second half following goals from Kellyn Acosta and Bobby Wood.
But Carlos Bacca, Radamel Falcao and Miguel Borja struck for the visitors before the match ended 4-2.
Colombia are looking to bounce back from their World Cup heartache – which saw them lose on penalties to England in the last-16.
