A popular laser tag park in Gateshead has gone up for sale, with its owners asking for £600,000 for the business.

Battlezone Laser opened in an empty industrial unit on Team Valley in 2014 but has been “reluctantly” placed on the market after its owners decided to concentrate on their other businesses.

The property, located off Kingsway, includes a main “Battle Arena” made up of an urban combat zone that can be altered to create different environments.

The arena contains a number of heavy-duty obstacles, abandoned vehicles, and passageways spanning multiple floors that combatants can use as cover during their shoot-out.

Battlezone also has its own in-house cafe called The Canteen serving hot and cold food.

Describing the facilities, the company’s agent said: “In addition to the main play arena the business benefits from an on-site ‘Canteen’ serving handmade pizzas, various gourmet burgers and a varied selection of snacks and hot & cold drinks.

“There is a comfortable bar and a surveillance area, where you can watch all the battle action unfold live on large-screen TV’s, and two briefing rooms plus separate toilets including disabled and baby change facilities.

“This business is an extremely popular venue and appeals to a broad age range and to different sectors of the market. Whilst children’s parties are naturally a mainstay of the business, there are also regular corporate and team bonding events which could be promoted further by new operators.”

In total the Team Valley site boasts 17,475sq ft of space and a designated car park for up to 30 cars.

The £600,000 price tag also includes the company’s website and online booking system as well the potential to franchise and expand to other areas. It is available on a freehold basis.
