GREAT British Bake Off's Dave Friday proposed to his girlfriend on Extra Slice tonight.

The baker may have missed out on winning the latest series of the Channel 4 show earlier this week, but on tonight's spin off show, he got an even better prize.

Runner up Dave got down on one knee to propose to Stacey Valentine in front of Extra Slice host Jo Brand as well as Bake Off presenter Matt Lucas.

Dave, who welcomed son Ronnie with Stacey earlier this year, said:"So this has been a very memorable year, obviously the birth of our baby boy Ronnie being selected to be on Bake Off ".

"Don't make me cry!" said Stacey, as Dave added: "I want us to start the next chapter of our lives together, so Stacey Lynn Valentine, I love you from the bottom of my heart, and"

A shocked Stacey couldn't help but interrupt him saying: "Oh my god, I actually thought he was gonna say a joke!"

Dave continued as he revealed the ring: "Will you marry me?"

As she clutched her hand to her chest, Stacey replied: "Yes! Oh my god!"

As they kissed, the studio audience cheered and confetti rained down.

Thrilled Bake Off fans took to Twitter to discuss the sweet moment, with one writing: "Oh we are all in tears. Get out the champagne! Huge congratulations to you both and your lovely little baby Xxx".

Another added: "He proposed! She said yes, it must have been his Newquay jelly cake!"

A third tweeted: "Omg, how cute is Dave! Such a lovely guy and all round good egg. Congratulations to Stacey & Dave. All the very best for you both with your next adventure."

Dave finished as a runner up alongside Laura Adlington to winner Peter Sawkins during Tuesday's final.

Bake Off’s Peter hid show win from flatmates for six months and they all found out as they watched 2020 finale
