Hatton Garden gang house where £14m cash divided up goes on sale

Much of the jewellery heist mob’s haul has never been recovered – and police suspect it was buried or hidden inside the structure of buildings.

The gang – known as the Diamond Wheezers – returned to getaway driver John “Kenny” Collins’s three-bed terrace in Islington, north London, after the raid.

Inside, they divided up the proceeds from the 2015 burglary at Hatton Garden Safe Deposit Ltd – which is the subject of a new four-part ITV drama.

Neighbours reckon Collins’s property could be an unexpected bargain and one said: “I’d be heading straight to the loft, tearing down the walls and taking the panel off the bath.

“Who knows what’s inside? As for the patio? Those paving stones would be up in a breath. It could be a secret treasure trove.”

Collins, 78 – seen left in a CCTV shot shown in court – returned to the property in Dec-ember after serving half of a seven-year term. But he has to pay back half its value plus nearly £1m to avoid another seven years’ jail.

Collins famously fell asleep while on lookout during the heist.

He was responsible for the gang’s capture after he drove his own Mercedes and was tailed by police.
