In the dock at Teesside Magistrates Court this week

JOANNE LONSDALE, 42, of Westbury Street, Thornaby, admitted stealing two packs of cheese from Tesco, worth £5.90, and failing to surrender to bail, and was handed a six-month community order, put on a six-month curfew, and ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge.

LEON HOLLAND, 21, of Dorset Road, Stockton, admitted possessing an offensive weapon, namely a knuckleduster, and drink-driving. He was handed a 12-month community order and was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work. He was also fined £230 and was banned from driving for 12 months.

DANIELLE NICHOLSON, 30, of Samuel Street, Stockton, admitted stealing menswear worth £41 from TK Maxx and was handed a 12-month conditional discharge.

SCOTT MACKENZIE, 28, of Nesham Avenue, Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty to drink-driving and was handed a 12-month community order with 60 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

CHRISTOPHER KEVIN ANGUS, 37, of Borton Walk, Newtown, Stockton-on-Tees, pleaded guilty to drink-driving, driving while disqualified and having no insurance, and was handed a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He was disqualified from driving for 40 months.

MICHAEL STANLEY FORAJTER, 40, of Bridge Street West, Middlesbrough, was jailed for 24 weeks due to repeat offending. He pleaded guilty to entering Sainsburys petrol station on Wilson Street, Middlesbrough, as a trespasser with intent to steal. He was also ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge.

BRENDAN DENNIS HOLLAND, 32, of Chandlers Close, Hartlepool, was fined £120 after admitting drug-driving, cannabis possession, driving with no insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months.

PETER MCKEONE, 33, of Field Avenue, Middlesbrough, was fined £325 for drink-driving. He was banned from driving from 12 months.

JOHN MEALIN, 35, of Howard Street, Headland, Hartlepool, was given an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £300 compensation after admitting damaging a window belonging to Amigos Bar. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs.

CHRISTOPHER ALAN REIDY, 36, of Gretton Avenue, Middlesbrough, admitted drink-driving and was fined £350, ordered to pay a £35 victim surcharge and disqualified from driving for 16 months.
