Kris Boyd is unsure Kieran Tierney 's £25m switch to Arsenal has opened the door for Scottish football's stars to make the switch directly to the best teams in England.

But the former Kilmarnock and Rangers striker claims Odsonne Edouard has the qualities needed to go straight to a Premier League big-hitter.

Record Sport exclusively revealed last week that the France U21 is on Leicester's radar and former Parkhead boss Brendan Rodgers is eyeing a £30m summer bid.

Boyd reckons Tierney's Arsenal move isn't proof of a English football sea change on Premiership stars because of the Gunners' wretched season in England's top flight.

And the 36-year-old believes Edouard is now developing the 'swagger' that Moussa Dembele possessed before his £20m move to Lyon in 2018.

Edouard's former team-mate is now being tracked by Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham and Boyd is certain that's a level Celtic's record buy can also aspire to.

He told Sky Sports: "He is a talented footballer, he's got the lot.

"The only wee thing I would say is maybe different is Moussa Dembele had the swagger, he knew he was going on to the football pitch to score goals.

"I can see small signs with Edouard that this is now happening. He's going into games knowing he's going to score, that's one thing Dembele had.

"He oozes class, I think he is a fantastic forward.

"I wouldn't be surprised, if someone offers big money, he ain't going to want to stay around forever.

"Rangers and Celtic are massive football clubs, but like it or lump it, they are selling clubs, and if they get the right type of player, who can shine in Europe, they are selling clubs to the bigger clubs in Europe.

"Even with Morelos and Edouard, Kieran Tierney might have changed it but if you look at the Arsenal situation now, I don't think he's gone to a top team.

"When you take the likes of Virgil van Dijk, who have left Scottish football, and have to go and then prove themselves again before getting that next move.

"For me, with Odsonne Edouard, one of the big teams should come and get him and cut out the middle man.  I think there is someone there who can go right to the top."
