Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi has confirmed which of his hit songs were inspired by Love Island star Paige Turley.

The Someone You Loved star, 23, dated Paige for over a year following their meeting in college.

The pair are said to have split following her cheating on him with one of his close friends.

Lewis revealed to a crowd during a 30-minutes set at the Seven Dials Market in the West End on Saturday that the song she inspired was Hold Me While You Wait.

According to The Sun, Lewis told the crowd that Hold Me While You Wait was about a relationship that is "going well, and the lady has different ideas."

He continued: "She thinks it's going horribly and then she leaves, and you're quite sad about it, and you write an album about it.

"And then she ends up going on Love Island."
