Love Island’s Katie Salmon lashes out at ‘bitter’ critics – and says they’re only mad because they have to work to pay their bills while she ‘lives the good life’

KATIE Salmon has described "normal" people who work to pay their bills as "bitter" in a bizarre social media rant.

The former Love Island star, 23, was responding to a message on Twitter which read: "I really don't understand why people are so offended by influencers, it's actually mad."

In response, the 2016 Love Island hopeful told her 117,000 Twitter followers that resentment towards influencers is "because most people work so many hours" and are "depressed/tired" of paying "bills to live in a house [they don't own]".

She added: "We get paid to live life to a degree.

"Bitter, unhappy people don't like to see people live that good life #unfortunately".

Meanwhile, the former reality star then retweeted another user's comments about people becoming increasingly jealous of influencer freebies.

Following Instagram's technical difficulties this week, Katie retweeted the comment: "When Instagram goes down, you get set people having a dig at influencers.

"It pure baffles me cos you fully know they would love to get free stuff and be paid to post about it on their socials... I know I f***ing would."

The Love Island star also responded to another user who condemned people who say they hope influencers lose their jobs.

"Anyone who tweets about influencers and how it would be hilarious if Instagram wasn't there one day and we all lost our jobs, you're actually a pathetic excuse for a human, gotta be a pretty shocking person to wish that on other people," the user wrote.

Agreeing with this sentiment, Katie added: "Social media has expanded EVERYONE'S business. No social media?

"Most people's business would take a loss. If we lost all satellites, TV, music, actors, musicians wouldn't have a job. If everyone loses the main point of advertising for their business, nobody  would have a job. OBV."

Since appearing in Love Island back in  2016, Katie has created her own clothing line called Prodigal Fox.

Katie Salmon is best known for coupling up with the late Sophie Gradon on the hit ITV dating show.

In more celebrity news, Meghan Markle has been described as a "difficult person" who makes Prince Harry "miserable and glum" by a royal expert.

And Tamara Ecclestone has revealed she STILL sleeps with her five-year-old daughter Fifi - and she even has her own bed in her parents' room.

Plus the "Bambi" is the sexy new Instagram pose for those who want to flash their crotch - and even Megan Barton-Hanson's a fan.
