A man lost in a strawberry field more than half a century ago has been reunited with his precious gold ring.
Dave Radley was given jewelry by his mother as a gift for his 21st birthday.
However, somehow his signet ring slipped off his finger while he was collecting strawberries.
He tried to find his nine-carat ring many years ago, but eventually had to accept that it was lost.
LeicestershireLive reported a heart-warming discovery made by a metal detector expert informed by Dave about a 1968 lost property.
Valuable items were found seven inches deep from the ground he had but one slight scratch, ready to be polished.

"When I lived in the village, my main source of income was picking strawberries. It was the Dark Ages."

" Fast forward 54 years and Mick's brother Peter, who still owned the land, called me with the unbelievable news:
"Metal detectors were working locally, If he could detect it in exactly the same field.
"Peter told him he had a ring that he had lost in the 1960s and staked it where he remembered it. Then suddenly the phone rang. It came on and I'm stuck. Tell me how wonderful it is."
Dave finds a long-lost ring from a breakup over 50 years ago. I was delighted.
He added: The fact that the original family still lived on the land is the only reason it happened.
``He obviously knew the background. , I probably never got that land back.I am very grateful."
