Man Utd star ‘Greenwood set to be left out of next England squad but Southgate could recall Foden’ after Iceland shame

GARETH SOUTHGATE is set to recall Phil Foden to his England squad - but the wait could go on for Mason Greenwood.

The Three Lions boss dropped both of the players for four games after they breached coronavirus protocols while on international duty.

The pair were sent home in disgrace after they hooked up with two girls in their hotel in Iceland.

Southgate will name his England squad next Thursday ahead of the upcoming games against Republic of Ireland, Belgium and Iceland.

And the Mirror claim that Foden is highly likely to slot straight back into the Three Lions team.

The 20-year-old has continued to impress for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side this season.

He has chipped in with two goals in five games, including his crucial equaliser against West Ham.

Southgate is prepared to give both of the players another chance after the incident in Iceland.

But Greenwood does not look likely to be handed an immediate return to the senior squad.

The youngster has faced disciplinary issues at Old Trafford in recent weeks.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was left fuming after Greenwood turned up late for training twice.

And he's yet to score in the Premier League for the Red Devils in four appearances.

But he did get on the scoresheet as United thumped RB Leipzig 5-0 in the Champions League this week.
