Marcus Rashford's goal and Harry Maguire's clean sheet helped England secure qualification to Euro 2020 with a 7-0 win last night.
The Manchester United pair both started at Wembley in the victory over Montenegro, and will now travel to Kosovo for the final qualification game. United targets Jadon Sancho and James Maddison also featured.
Meanwhile, Scott McTominay has posted an encouraging injury update saying he is 'working hard to be back on the pitch as soon as possible' after suffering an injury that forced him to withdraw from Scotland's two fixtures this week. Keane reveals 4am hotel fight with Schmeichel
Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has revealed he had a late-night fight with Peter Schmeichel during his time at Old Trafford.
Keane is regarded as one of the Premier League’s greatest midfielders and won seven league titles, one Champions League and four FA Cup trophies during his time with United.
In light of the Raheem Sterling and Joe Gomez bust-up which saw the Manchester City winger dropped for England’s clash with Montenegro on Thursday night, Keane has revealed his own clash with the great Dane.
Keane insisted that he believes Gareth Southgate made too much of the Sterling incident and drew on his own personal experience as an example, with Sir Alex Ferguson simply giving both players a talking to.
United's fastest player this season revealed
Opta have revealed the fastest Manchester United player based on top speed recorded during the club’s opening 12 Premier League matches.
United have some pacey attackers in their ranks, with Daniel James, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford all capable of bursting past their opponents.
Similarly, Aaron-Wan Bissaka, Paul Pogba and Axel Tuanzebe are all quick across the ground when competing with their opponents.
Summer signing James, who has been described by United legend Ryan Giggs as the fastest player he’s ever seen, boasts a top speed of 35.04/km recorded from a league fixture this season.
However, the flying Welshman is left playing second fiddle to one of his United attacking teammates.
Butt sends messages to McTominay, Pereira and Tuanzebe
Nicky Butt has challenged Scott McTominay and Andreas Pereira to add goals to their game after establishing themselves in the Manchester United first team.
As Head of first team development, Butt says the various United academy graduates in the senior squad reflects well on the team, before tasking three more players to kick on and continue to show improvement in their games.
Speaking to United Review, Butt said:
“I’ve been impressed. We’ve had so many going in and doing well in different parts. Scott has now become established, even though he’s still a very young player. He’s doing really well. Axel [Tuanzebe] has come in and done really well when he’s had his chances. Andreas is playing consistently and there’s still more to come from him.”
