David de Gea

Reacted well to ensure Raul Jimenez's header did not bounce in off him but could do nothing about Ruben Neves' crackerjacker. 6

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Imperious in defence again and had to be with Daniel James a shaky starter ahead of him. Not as dominant as Wolves improved after the pause. 6

Harry Maguire

Newly-signed United centre halves usually struggle at the start and Maguire was faultless again for 45 minutes. Then a foul and a miscue let Wolves back into the game. 6

Victor Lindelof

His passing was poor against Chelsea and it was worse at Molineux. Almost gifted the hosts a chance to equalise but recovered. 5

Luke Shaw

Missed an early tackle but swept up a Wolves counter-attack soon after and was proactive for the goal. Adama Traore was a handful after half-time. 6

Paul Pogba

Took time to get going again but galvanised United with the pass that allowed Marcus Rashford to create their first chance. Won the penalty and wasted it. 5

Scott McTominay

Rusty to begin with and the United coaches were on his case. McTominay helped string the move together for the opener but was tepid.  5

Daniel James

His promotion to starter was always liable to come too early and it did. Struggled to control or keep the ball, got booked for diving and his crossing was poor. 3

Jesse Lingard

Began too far forward at first but dropped deep for the goal and played a key role in it. His slashed effort at 1-0 proved costly. 5

Marcus Rashford

Crossed superbly for Anthony Martial on 19 minutes and claimed the assist for the Frenchman's breakthrough. Quieter in the second-half. 6

Anthony Martial

Should have been braver to meet Rashford's cross but clinically finished eight minutes later. Much slicker on the ball thereafter. 7
