Peter Andre blasts government ‘shambles’ over coronavirus as he didn’t know if he could visit his late brother’s grave

PETER Andre has branded government coronavirus advice a "shambles" after it left him confused over whether or not he could visit his brother's grave.

The singer's older brother Andrew lost his battle to kidney cancer in 2012 and Peter marked what would have been his birthday earlier this month.

Discussing the rules previously laid out by the Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Peter, 47, told New magazine: "It was my late brother Andrew's birthday and I didn't know whether  was allowed to visit him in the cemetery - I had to ask people."

The father-of-four explained: "Last week's advice on easing lockdown restrictions wasn't as clear-cut as we'd hoped for.

What everyone wanted to hear about was seeing their families, but that was completely left out of Boris's speech.

"They've since explained you can go and sit in the park and be two metres away from strangers, but you can't meet your mother and father together. Huh?"

Peter is married to wife Emily, who is a doctor currently battling the coronavirus pandemic with NHS frontline staff.

Earlier in the month he paid special tribute to his brother in a special Instagram post.

He wrote: "Happy birthday my brother.

"RIP. Thinking of you every day until we meet again."

The Mysterious Girl crooner previously revealed he struggled to cope with Andrew's death and begged Emily to leave him as he battled depression in the aftermath.

The singer bravely opened up about his mental health battle last year, revealing he has been on and off medication and in therapy ever since.

Peter explained: "I told Emily: 'You can either stay and stick with me through this, which I personally wouldn't, or you can go.'

"And she said: 'It's not even a question, we are going to get through it together'."

Andrew passed away from kidney cancer in December 2012 after a 10-month battle with the illness, a spokesperson said at the time: "Peter is devastated. He was very, very close to his brother.

"This is the very first family member Peter has experienced losing. He just needs time to grieve."

Peter Andre proves daughter Amelia, 6, is following in his footsteps as she sings Bruno Mars
