Royal Ascot 2019: Aidan O’Brien lands epic 1-2-3 in King George V finale

PACIFIC WAVE

AIDAN O'BRIEN landed a famous 1-2-3 in the King George V Handicap as South Pacific saw off stablemate Constantinople in a thriller.

The 'Lads' were smiling as Eminence completed the trio in the finale.

Seamie Heffernan, who recently landed the Derby on Anthony Van Dyck, had cause to celebrate once again.

Coming with a strong run down the outside, he took up the lead inside the final furlong and nosed ahead of the Ryan Moore-ridden Constantinople in the shadows of the post.

Persian Moon flew home for fourth, with Sir Michael Stoute's Almania back in fifth.

The result capped an amazing day following Frankie Dettori's four-timer that included a famous victory aboard Stradivarius in the Gold Cup.
