Royal Ascot tips: Who should I bet on in the 5.00pm Sandringham Stakes at Ascot today?

EXPERT ADVICE

THIS year's Sandringham Stakes looks a cracker, but who will our top tipsters be backing?

With tips from our very own Templegate, Matt Chapman and the latest race trends, we've got the all-important views on each race right here.

Who is running in the Sandringham Stakes?

What are the top tips for the race?

Templegate - Nonchalance

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if John Gosden’s filly develops into a Group performer.

After showing plenty of promise on her debut at Wolverhampton she has taken apart good novice races at Haydock and Newmarket.

The first of those came over a mile before dropped back to 7f so, although she stays today’s trip fine, she has a nice bit of pace to go with it. That’s a potent combination.

Matt Chapman - Whimbrel

I'm taking a chance on a big-priced runner here with no weight in the shape of WHIMBREL. My hope, trained by John Gosden, got off the mark over two furlongs further last time, but with a strong pace likely the trip is not expected to be a problem. She's improving and stays strong so with just 8st on her back I will take her to run a huge one as an each-way bet.

Wizard Of Odds - Desirous

I fancy DESIROUS in the Sandringham Stakes.

Ralph Beckett surely has more than a handicapper on his hands in this Kingman filly who impressed on comeback at Goodwood last time.

She has clearly trained on well as she left her already solid juvenile form behind when stepped up to this trip for the first time.

Trends - Ice Gala

In no time at all, we have whittled them down to just Ice Gala and Invitational. Spreading your stake would be a wise move given the prices on offer but ICE GALA can be forgiven a modest run at Musselburgh last time because she was hampered at the start.

She earlier won nicely at Salisbury and is a big each-way price for in-form William Haggas.
