A Scots woman has been left disgusted after finding an 'insect' in her takeaway.

Stacey Kiddie made the stomach-churning discovery in the macaroni cheese she'd ordered from Frankie and Benny's at Glasgow Fort last night.

A picture she took of the meal shows what appears to be a creature crawling over the food.

Stacey told Glasgow Live of her health fears after finding the 'bug' - especially during the coronavirus crisis.

She said: "I order from here all the time, I am really disappointed.

"I don't want my money back, but as a customer that spends a lot each week, I even said I don't want money back but I am phoning environmental health today, as this shouldn't be happening."

Frankie and Benny's has confirmed they are in contact with the customer, and described the matter as an "isolated incident".

A spokesperson for the restaurant said: "We are in contact with the customer regarding a complaint about a foreign object found in a meal.

"We are looking into this isolated incident and will keep the customer updated.

"All of our restaurants follow strict policies around food hygiene and are regularly inspected by the environmental health officer."
