Sheffield city centre bookmakers cordoned off following reports of 'armed robbery'

Police have cordoned off a bookmakers in Sheffield city centre following reports of an armed robbery.

Eyewitnesses said Paddy Power on London Road was cordoned off and police were at the scene at around 9.45pm on Monday.

One said: "My friend saw the lead up to it. He said he saw a car pull up outside a group of lads run in. Then a few minutes later they left and sped off. Police are there now and have cordoned the area off."
