CCTV has been released of the moment two men set fire to a fashion boutique in the city centre.

The dramatic footage shows the offenders pull up on a motorbike outside The Dolls House on Bridge Street.

They then smash the window and pour a flammable liquid inside.

The rider and pillion passenger then speed away from the scene, towards the direction of Salford.

The arson attack happened at around 8.15pm on Monday, September 2.

Firefighters rushed to the scene  and spent two hours and 30 minutes tackling the blaze.

One person, believed to be a cleaner, was treated for shock, police said.

The road was cordoned off following the arson attack.

The Dolls House is an independent clothing boutique.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the incident to come forward with information.

 

Det Insp Mark Astbury, from GMP’s City of Manchester Division, said: “We are treating this as a deliberately targeted arson attack and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw two men on a red motorcycle acting suspiciously around the time of the incident, to get in touch.”
