It's a whiteout across large parts of Scotland today, as ice and snow sweeps through the country.

A Met Office yellow weather warning for ice is in place until noon today and there have been strong snow and sleet showers in northern and western regions.

Many Scots woke up to a winter wonderland on their doorstep and while some begrudged having to get out the ice scraper, others were loving seeing the white stuff.

Drivers are being warned to take extra care today and to expect delays on roads as the conditions cause heavier congestion.

According to the Met Office, there is also a chance of some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, so be careful while travelling on foot.
