Stormzy slammed by top cop for discussing his life of crime after admitting he mugged a pizza delivery man

STORMZY has been slammed by a top cop for discussing his life of crime - after admitting he once mugged a pizza delivery man.

Earlier this week, the grime star, who is currently at No1 on the album and single charts, confessed it was one of a series of shocking crimes he committed during his days as a “hood rat”.

But the 26-year-old's frank and honest admission has left former Met murder detective Stuart Gibbon unimpressed.

Speaking to The Daily Star, Mr Gibbon said Stormzy discussing violence, stabbings and muggings during a radio interview could lead to copycat crimes.

“But he goes into lots of unnecessary detail. He doesn’t say there is anything wrong with it, which there is."

He continued: "He says it is ‘bog standard’ in these areas.

However, the Brit and MOBO Award winner did say he had come to realise how “reckless and stupid” his behaviour was as a teenager during the chat with US radio host Charlamagne Tha God.

“I was a hood rat. Sometimes, man’s on the block in your school uniform all day.

“I remember being a hood rat, indulging in everything a young black kid in London does.

“Back then no one batted an eyelid: a robbery, a stabbing, a fight in the middle of the road.

"Jumping in a cab and bumping the driver, ordering a pizza and robbing a pizza man and taking his ’ped, that was so bog standard.

“Looking back, we were reckless and stupid but at the time it was so normal."
