Jack Parkes, 22, of HMP Hull, was jailed for 16 weeks, to be served consecutively to his existing sentence, for assault by beating - described as an "appalling" attack on a prison officer. Parkes, who was said to have a "degrading history of violence", was jailed for three years last September for strangling a man with epilepsy until he lost consciousness in a street robbery in Bransholme.

Vincent Martin, 20, of Westbourne House, Princes Avenue, west Hull, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for possessing a folding pocket knife at the Apollo nightclub in Bridlington, and possessing cannabis. He must pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.

Nicola Broberg, 33, of Torpoint Drive, west Hull, must have six months of treatment for drug dependency for three offences of fraud by false representation, by using a stolen bank card; and handling stolen goods, a bank card. She must pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Kayley Forth, 29, of Hull Road, Cottingham, was discharged conditionally for two years for three offences of assault by beating. She must pay a £20 surcharge.

Reginald Anderson, 62, of Woodland Rise, Driffield, was fined £120, and was banned from driving for 14 months, for drink-driving. He must pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Ian Lewington, 31, of Bedale Road, Market Weighton, must do 120 hours of unpaid work, and was banned from driving for a year, for driving while disqualified. He must pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.
