Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas is counting on her mum to nurse her back to health following breast surgery.

Shirley, 59, insists mum Audrey Rich, 82, will help her recover in time to appear on the hit BBC show that week.

The dancer learnt breast implants may reduce the effectiveness of mammograms so is having them removed this month. There has been a number of cancer diagnoses in her family.

Shirley said: “I’m a little nervous. It’s about a three-and-a-half hour operation.”

Afterwards Audrey, who was diagnosed with cancer, will stay with Shirley who said: “If anyone can get me up and ready in time for Strictly in four days it will be her.”
