Stripes on the back!
That was the big winner for fans when Sunderland unveiled their home kit for the 2020-21 season - the first made for the Black Cats by Nike since 2004.
It seems to have proven popular among supporters reacting on social media, with the fact the back features stripes as well as the front a particular highlight of the upcoming season's shirt.
In recent years, kits made by Adidas had featured a block on the back for names and numbers, but this season, as well as the Nike swoosh on the front, the names and numbers will proudly sit over the famous red and white stripes.
Also on the new kit is new sponsors, with Great Anual Savings' logo on the front, Utilita on the back and Eleven Sports Media on the back of the shorts. A special feature will also see the wording ‘HA’WAY THE LADS’ printed inside the back of the neck.
Nike have a history with Sunderland AFC. After basing their first UK offices on Wearside, Sunderland became the first European football club to wear Nike kits in the '80s.
And it would appear, this new bespoke kit has hit the mark with Sunderland fans, ahead of its on-sale date. Fans should note that due to the club store being closed because of the ongoing pandemic, the kit will be available online only, from Monday, August 10.
Here's a round-up of how fans reacted to the kit.
