These pictures show the “disgusting” stinking mess that has been left just off one of Hull’s most popular streets.
Overflowing bins along with dumped mattresses, sofas and shopping trolleys have been chucked into a small car park in a cul-de-sac off Princes Avenue and Duesbery Street.
Split black bin bags full of food waste have spilled onto the concrete in Charing Close, attracting mice and rats to the area.
Residents say they are "disgusted" with the sight - but that it is even worse in other alleyways around the busy street.
Emma Bowman, 29, said: “It is disgusting. It is not just there but also down the alleyways where it is worse.
“I have to take my children down there to nursery and it is disgusting, there is always glass and bottles left there.
“We have even seen human poo in toilet roll down the alleyways once.”
Emma says children play with the dirty mattresses and that she is shocked at the number of people she has seen “raiding the bins”.
She believes that the area needs to be “maintained more”.
Emma added: “Every house down here has got kids. Obviously, the younger ones start jumping on the dirty mattresses.
“I have seen people actually raiding through the bins as well. It is unbelievable.
“It is not what you want to look at when you open your window in the morning.
“I cannot believe how bad it is. It is the first time I have seen it this bad.”
One man, who did not wish to be named says that the mess is “not the worst problem” in the area.
He said: “This area is a s******* to be fair.
“You have got gearheads all around over there. Over the back fence there is needles and mattresses.
“That [fly-tipping] is not the worst problem around here. It is the drug users. It is what it is I suppose.”
