Albian Ajeti is heading to Glasgow to seal a deal with Celtic after Neil Lennon sold the West Ham hitman on a switch to Scotland.
The striker is expected imminently to finalise a one-year loan deal with a view to a £5.5m permanent move next summer.
Ajeti spent the last week on holiday in Sardinia considering his future after being told by Hammers boss David Moyes he wasn’t part of his plans for next season.
The 23-year-old Swiss star had cooled on Celts after initial contact – but Lennon stepped in at the end of last week to nudge the deal in the right direction.
Record Sport understands Ajeti had concerns about his game time being limited with Odsonne Edouard the main man up front at Parkhead.
It is understood there is still work to be done to get the move over the finishing line, but there is optimism he could be on board in the next 48 hours.
Celtic have returned to Ajeti after hitting a brick wall with their pursuit of Ivan Toney following Peterborough’s hardball stance over their £9m price tag.
The Hoops also held talks with Steven Fletcher – and could still snap up the Scotland star – but discussions broke down with the 33-year-old wanting a longer commitment than offered at Parkhead.
