The trailer for The Walking Dead season 10 has arrived – and it looks like fans have an action-packed batch of episodes in store.

Returning to Hall H at Comic-Con for the AMC show’s annual panel, cast members including Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride teased the forthcoming run before introducing the extended promo.

Among the biggest surprises in the trailer are the aforementioned duo’s characters Daryl and Carol debating leaving the group behind and starting anew and a switch-up to a beachy location as focus is placed on Oceanside.

Elsewhere, it seems Negan’s redemptive arc is in full swing as he teams up to fight Alpha alongside a hesitant-looking Aaron.

As well as delivering the trailer, the cast had some sad news to share in the form of confirmation that Danai Gurira – most recently seen as Okoye in Avengers: Endgame – will be leaving the show this season.

“I can confirm that this is the last season I will be on this amazing TV show as Michonne,” she said, receiving a standing ovation.

She continued: “I would just like to say that this has been one of the purest joys of my life to play this role and to be amongst these people and those who are not here right now and amongst all of you. I’m very thankful for the experience I’ve had in ways I can’t state right now. My heart does not leave in any way, shape or form. The connection between us never ends.”

This will be the first full season without former lead star Andrew Lincoln.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC in the US on 6 October and will air the following evening in the UK on FOX and NOW TV.
