Wayne Rooney has weighed in on his wife Coleen's relations with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy as he admits the scandal has him "fed up".

The ladies have been at loggerheads since last October after 34-year-old Coleen sensationally accused 38-year-old Rebekah of selling stories about her to the press – an accusation Becky has strenuously denied.

A source told Heat: "He’s [Wayne] told her she needs to make the whole situation go away and just settle. He thinks a court case would be a disaster – not only the cost, but what could be exposed and who could be called as a witness."

The source said Wayne just wants the ladies to put the drama behind them for their family's sakes.

The insider added: "He says it would be like throwing a hand grenade into the world of footballers’ personal lives, stirring up gossip about what they get up to."

Wayne is reportedly 'fed up' of the drama

"He’s very nervous that battling over privacy will mean that his past – the cheating and gambling stories and negative headlines – will be dragged up again, and it will be there on public record for his kids and teammates to see. He’s worried he’ll lose the respect of everyone.”

Mirror Online has contacted Wayne's reps for comment.

It comes as the warring WAGS are heading to court after negotiations between the two to reach and agreement following last years’ explosive eavesdropping accusations collapsed.

Wayne wants wife Coleen to put the drama behind her

Last week, it was revealed the ladies were hoping to settle their differences out of court – but now it transpires the ladies have seen their negotiations end in a bitter deadlock.

Sources say it now looks certain the women will be asking a judge to solve their problems after Rebekah previously threatened to sue Coleen for libel – and Coleen threatened to counter sue for breach of privacy following their explosive fallout.

Rebekah Vardy has denied Coleen's claims that accused her of leaking stories to the press

A source told the  Mail on Sunday : “The girls are still no further forward, so it's now going to have to be heard in court.

“It's a shame it has come to this but there is no other way.”

The source added: “Coleen has plenty of evidence and she isn't frightened to show it.”

The WAGs have not yet put the drama behind them

In October last year, Coleen – who is married to footballer Wayne Rooney, 34 – claimed to have set a trap to uncover a mole within her network of friends after she felt close-guarded details from her personal life kept making their way into headlines.

She claimed to have adjusted her social media channels so only one person could see what she was uploading, and then, giving fake information about her life, Coleen felt sure she knew who was selling her out after these made-up details made headlines of their own.
