Jaqueline Jossa rose to fame playing her character Lauren Branning but has now confirmed she is venturing into the jungle for I'm A Celebrity.
But will she be returning to the soap and how did she depart from the Square? Here’s everything you need to know about Lauren's exit storyline...
Will Jacqueline Jossa return to EastEnders?
EastEnders dropped a Lauren bombshell earlier this year that got fans thinking.
In July, Kathy Beale revealed that Ian was in New Zealand because Peter and Lauren were having some relationship troubles.
It was confirmed when Lauren left the soap that she was heading to New Zealand where her ex Peter lives.
But the soap never confirmed that the pair had rekindled their relationship.
The bombshell from Kathy left fans wondering whether Jacqueline could be making a surprise return to the soap.
But EastEnders is yet to announce any plans of her coming back - and fans will have to wait and see.
What was Lauren Branning’s exit storyline?
Jacqueline joined the BBC One soap in September, 2010 and was the second actress to play Lauren, replacing Madeline Duggan.
During her stint on the soap, Jacqueline was involved in several important storylines including a twisted love triangle with brothers Pete and Steven Beale.
Her tragic character also fell in love with her cousin and became an alcoholic after struggling to cope with her mum’s cancer diagnosis.
And the actress made quite the departure from the soap in February 2018 during her sister Abi’s funeral.
The unemployed single mother made the split decision during the formal event to look for pastures new, and marched straight out of the funeral, past her boyfriend Josh and seemingly straight into the graveyard.
Her departure left viewers utterly confused as to whether she was planning to live in a cemetery with her toddler...
What has Jacqueline done since leaving EastEnders?
Jacqueline swapped the Square for the jungle after signing up for this year’s I'm A Celebrity.
The EastEnders actress will brave the monstrous challenges as she joins stars including Caityln Jenner, Ian Wright and Myles Stepehnson on the popular ITV show.
Speaking about her upcoming tasks, she said: “It’s going to be so difficult going in as me and that’s definitely going to be the hardest part,” she began.
“I have never done a show where I have been myself. And I am also scared of everything - especially spiders! They are the worst, there will be tears!”
She added: “My old colleagues on EastEnders are going to be shocked. I don’t think they can imagine me in there. I don’t like creatures. It is not my thing.”
She went on to say: “I have also never done rock climbing, jumped out of a plane or camped in my life. I am not that kind of girl.
"But having said all that, I am really excited. This is something completely different and it’s going to be a totally new experience.”
The star was also said to have been in talks to join Simon Cowell’s show X Factor: Celebrity, but negotiations unfortunately fizzled out.
