A wide range of road closures will be in place this coming weekend as an international cycling event comes to East Yorkshire.

The UCI Road World Championships starts this week, seeing a range of cycling races taking place across Yorkshire.

On Saturday, September 21, our region will host the 2019 Para-Cycling International, which will see around 60 of the world's best disabled cyclists take to the roads.

Starting in Beverley's Saturday Market, the route will see cyclists travel through Bishop Burton, Market Weighton, Holme on Spalding Moor and Bubwith, before making their way to the finish line in Harrogate.

A number of temporary road closures will be in place due to the event, which will start at 12pm.

Beverley Market is also cancelled for that day but will return the following week.
