“Hearts And Kotoko Cannot Compete at The Top Level” – Africa Football Expert

Africa football expert, Nuhu Adams says Ghanaian clubs, Hearts and Kotoko cannot compete with top sides on the continent.

Kotoko will play Burkina Faso champions, RC Kadiogo in the 2022/23 CAF Champions League with Hearts of Oak awaiting the winner between AS Douanes of Burkina and ASR Bamako of Mali in the Confederation Cup.

Nuhu Adams admits that the two clubs do not have what it takes to compete with the big guns.

“They can compete but not at the top level, they are not even consistent on the continent,” Nuhu Adams told Radio Gold TalkSport.

“It will be very difficult to say you are competing with the big guns, you have to be consistent, you have to try, try try before you get to a stage where you can say now I can say I’m winning a trophy or I can compete with Al Ahly and the likes.

“There are so many instances that I can give, Horoya AC at this moment they are the best team in West Africa.

“But even them, it becomes difficult for them to compete with the big clubs on the continent.

“Basically if you look at the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup in the last ten years, only two teams from the sub-Sahara Africa have been able to win it and that is Mamelodi Sundowns and TP Mazembe.

“It is always dominated by the North Africans.” Nuhu Adams added on Radio Gold Talk Sports.
