Former Ghanaian Parliamentarian who was MP for Old Tafo in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei has passed on.

An Economist and Politician, Dr. Akoto Osei was also Minister of State in charge of Finance and Economic Planning during the era of Former President J.A Kufour. He became Minister of Finance after the death of Kwadwo Baah Wiredu from September 2008 to January 6, 2009.

The former consultant to the World Bank (Korea Division) was also Minister for Monitoring and Evaluation in the first term of Ghana’s President Akufo-Addo from 2017 to 2021.

6. He was nicknamed Terry Wise in Achimota School where he did his O Level and had his A Level at Opoku Ware School in Kumasi.

7. His Aunt is Former First Lady, Mrs. Theresa Kufour and his Uncle was the late Senior Minister and Former Member of Parliament and Economist, J.H Mensah.

8. He is the blood brother of Accomplished Diplomat, Ambassador D.K Osei who was Secretary to the President, J.A Kufour and the inaugural President of The Council on Foreign Relations, Ghana.

9. He was a widower who lost his wife 2 years ago in the same month of March in 2021 and they left behind 3 children.
