They Know Those Involved In Galamsey, Let Them Be The Ones To Fight It; Osei Tutu Spits Bitter Truth

Otumfour Osei Tutu the second, who rules as a king of the Asante kingdom has revealed on Opensuo Radio that the galamseyers always arrive at their kingdom holding issued licenses and other government certificates that show that they should be allowed to undertake the small scale mining activities in the area.

Acccording to Chief Otumfour Osei Tutu the second, they always encounter such situation and upon confronting them, they bring out authoritative permits that reveals that, authority from the above in the Greater Accra Region supports their mining activities.

After all the effort that the government of this country, Ghana, made to bring the galamsey activities to an end yet it could not work. My question is that, why did it not happen as planned?

This is because, the DCE security officers and other authorities that he chose to fight against illegal mining have the idea and know about the people who are behind the galamsey act. Allow these people to fight against galamsey and if they are not able to accomplish the task assigned to them.

“We will be here and they will come with certificate or license for operation that it was given to them in the Greater Accra. After all, the Constitution says the minerals and the ones who knows those involved in galamsey. The government appointed the DCEs security forces and other authorities to fight the galamsey but, why is it not successful? Because they know those involved. Let them be the ones to fight it. If they are unable to stop galamsey, they are not supposed to look anywhere”. Otumfour Osei Tutu the second said.
