The army grandaunt contingent is mainly comprised of former dismissed soldiers, officers; and civilian supporters of the Coalition government. Their new uniform is similar to the defunct National Gendarmerie military outfit.

Turo Jawneh was nearly manhandled by a Senegalese officer during President Barrow’s address at the National Assembly. Security has been beefed up around the Presidency.
Soma Mechanic Adama Bah Marries First Lady’s sister
Adama Bah, a mechanic in Jarra Soma, has married the sister of Gambia’s First Lady Fatoumatta Bah Barrow. His wife hailed from Basse. She was accorded a low key welcoming party three weeks ago in Soma.
The Gambian state has deployed the police to Adama Bah’s home to guard the First Lady’s sister. This is no joke. The First Lady’s sister enjoys security protection at her new matrimonial home in Soma.
In another development, police in Soma said the First Lady Fatoumatta Bah Barrow recently paid them a visit at the station. She asked the officers on duty what do they need when it comes enhancing their job, our source said.
In recent weeks, the First Lady, has been up and about interacting with communities. She has been engaged in community work and tree planting initiatives.
