Sophia sisters remanded for stabbing mother of 3 to death

Two sisters, Jamacy Jason, 21, and 29-year-old Tiffine Greaves of B Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, were on Thursday remanded to prison for the capital offence of murder.

Remanded: Tiffine Greaves

They appeared before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Courts.

Remanded: Jamacy Jason

The joint indictable charge against them stated that they murdered 22-year-old Vanessa Anderson, a mother of three of B Field Sophia Dam, Greater Georgetown, on August 9.
They were remanded and the case will continue on September 28.
Reports are that Anderson and the sisters were not on speaking terms because of an old grievance. They lived next to the now dead woman.
On August 9, Anderson was at home with her sister and a relative when Jason and her sister began taunting her. As such, an argument erupted between them.
As the mother of three was walking going to a nearby shop, the sisters attacked her.

Dead: Vanessa Anderson

Greaves allegedly whipped out a knife and handed it to her younger sister, who stabbed Anderson in the back. The injured woman was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. After the stabbing, the siblings surrendered to the Police. (G1)
