iciHaiti - Education : End of the workshop on the referential of professional skills for teachers
Wednesday, September 7, 2023, the third and last day of the workshop, on the Referential of professional skills of the teacher and the national teacher training policy Nesmy Manigat, the Minister of National Education announced 7 major actions that the Ministry should be achieving for the academic year 2023-2024; among them we find: support for parents, support for students who move because of insecurity in their neighborhood, support for learning.
The Ministry also aims to work towards the inclusion of all children, the training of educational staff, social dialogue with teachers' unions, and work towards the modernization of user services.
Manigat announced three ministerial decisions which will be published for the 2023-2024 school year.
1) Teacher training framework;
2) Teaching license;
3) Reference teaching skills.
The various actors and partners in the education sector applauded these decisions, which will serve as valuable tools to strengthen the teaching profession and the quality of education in Haiti.
