iciHaiti - PNH : Emergency meeting of the CSPN
On Sunday January 29, 2023, the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN) chaired by Prime Minister Ariel Henry, met. On the agenda, the violent protests of the police on January 26 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-38706-haiti-flash-high-tension-and-panic-in-port-au-prince.html following the death of their brothers in arms on January 20 in Métivier https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-38660-haiti-flash-high-tension-in-petion-ville-at-least-3-police-officers-killed.html and January 25 in Liancourt https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-38701-icihaiti-insecurity-6-police-officers-killed-in-clashes-with-the-gran-grif-gang.html , and the provisions to be adopted so that the police can do their job in the best possible conditions.
The National Police Command provided Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry with a preliminary report on the latest events. In addition, the CSPN has requested a thorough investigation into the incidents that occurred at Toussaint Louverure International Airport https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-38706-haiti-flash-high-tension-and-panic-in-port-au-prince.html and demanded from the National Police of Haiti (PNH) a review and strengthening of security measures at the airport and in other strategic and sovereign infrastructures.
The CSPN also asked the High Command of the Police to take into account, as much as possible, the demands of the police, so that they are able to respond to their mission which is to protect and serve the population who, more than ever, needs his law enforcement.
