iciHaiti - Technology : ICTs have become essential

World Telecommunication and Information Society Day was celebrated this year under the theme : "Empowering the least developed countries through Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)".

Let's remember that the first convention, signed in May 1865, allowed the creation of a framework intended in particular to standardize equipment and define uniform operating instructions.

158 years later, ICTs have become essential in rich or less advanced countries through public promotion and encouragement policies intended to maximize job creation, economic growth and, consequently, the fight against poverty and Social inequalities.

While the debates on technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, robotics and networks continue to grow, the Ministry of Communication wishes to underline the commitment of the Haitian Government to initiate, support and support any initiative likely to promote efficiency and innovation through ICT in Haiti in order to strengthen the capacity of businesses and organizations in the country to participate effectively in the global digital economy.

The Ministry of Communication takes the opportunity to urge operators operating in ICT and other partners, both national and international, to support "start-ups" using digital inclusion and new technological solutions for an economic impact, social and environmental.
