The Departmental Directorate of Education of Artibonite (DDE-A) regrets the many actions that took place during the day of January 31, where several schools were affected due to police demonstrations in the city of Gonaïves.

DDE-A condemns all acts, whether in public or private schools, that have caused disturbances and prevented students from working at school.

She takes the opportunity to deny false information that suggests that some students would have died during this day. What is true is that a young person was injured and that there was a fire at the entrance to the College Larond, extinguished thanks to the support of the population.

DDE-A respects everyone's right to demonstrate in defense of their rights, but also believes that it is important that everyone respects the right of students to work in schools in order and discipline.
