Cillian Murphy reveals new spoken word project

The Cork man has lent his skills to the newly released album 'A Winter Light'.

The Peaky Blinders star wrote and performed the track Changes. The accompanying visually striking black and white music video was directed by Berlin-based contemporary artist Michael John Whelan.

'A Winter Light' is the collaborative music project made in response to Mark Garry’s survey exhibition at the Model Gallery in Sligo. The exhibit looked at how the personal and the political are inseparable, and the manner in which Irish citizens have acted with one another over the past one hundred years.

The project also features
Oliver Alcorn, Karl Burke, Eileen and Sean Carpio, Mark Garry, Nina Hynes, Fabien Leseure, Claudia Schwab and Robert Stillman.

Murphy's brother Padraig also collaborated. The duo previously jammed together with school friends in their 90s band The Sons Of Mr Greengenes. The band was even offered a five-album deal at one stage, but Murphy evidently rode the acting wave instead.

In fact, Changes isn't his first foray into spoken word projects. The 42-year-old previously collaborated on the Frank and Walters album 'Songs for the Walking Wounded'.
